Poison Oak and Poison Ivy Dermatitis Stack

If you develop an itchy, red rash after spending time outdoors, you may have brushed against a poison ivy or poison oak plant. These are plants that can cause allergic contact dermatitis and is the most common skin problem caused by contact with plants. Symptoms of which include itching, red streaks or general redness, small bumps or larger raised areas, and blisters that may leak fluid. However, some people may develop more serious effects including difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, mouth, neck and genitals, and widespread, large blisters that ooze a lot of fluid. According to research or other evidence, the following self-care steps may be helpful.
