Vitamin D, also known as Calciferol, refers to a group of secostreoids known to enhance intestinal absorption of calcium, iron, zinc, phosphate, and magnesium. Calciferol helps to maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus, which strengthen bones, helps form teeth and bones. Tauroursodeoxycholic Acid, or TUDCA, is a water soluble bile salt that may treat cholestasis which refers when bile acid backup in the liver. This is done by TUDCA counteracting the toxicity of the regular bile acids. It can also protect the liver cells and rehabilitate them as well. Moreover, it may reduce insulin resistance and may benefit people with diabetes. However, However, further researches and clinical studies should still be conducted regarding TUDCA's mechanism of action and more potential benefits to the human health.
