Vitamin D, also known as Calciferol, refers to a group of secostreoids known to enhance intestinal absorption of calcium, iron, zinc, phosphate, and magnesium. Calciferol helps to maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus, which strengthen bones, helps form teeth and bones. As for the cognitive perspective, studies show that low levels of Vitamin are associated with cognitive impairment and have a higher risk for developing Alzheimer's disease although this has not yet been properly established.



D-Aspartic Acid is an endogenous amino acid that has been found in the neuroendocrine tissues of both vertebrates and invertebrates. A research has claimed that D-Aspartic Acid has a role in the regulation of the release and synthesis of Luteinizing hormone and testosterone. In human and rat studies, D-Aspartic Acid enhances the release of Luteinizing hormone and testosterone in the pituitary and testis respectively. This action is mediated in the pituitary by cGMP and in the testis by cAMP, which act as the second messengers in the signal transdcution in the pituitary and testes respectively. The pituitary and testis possesses a D-Aspartic Acid racemase, thus providing the necessary production of D-Aspartic Acid. In addition to that, D-Aspartic Acid is combined with other minerals to enhance athletic performance. Some forms of which are used to reduce brain damage caused by cirrhosis of the liver, also called as hepatic encephalopathy, when given intravenously. However, further researches and clinical studies should still be conducted pertaining to D-Aspartic Acid.
