Vitamin D ReviewVitamin D, also known as Calciferol, refers to a group of secostreoids known to enhance intestinal absorption of calcium, iron, zinc, phosphate, and magnesium. Calciferol helps to maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus, which strengthen bones, helps form teeth and bones. As for the cognitive perspective, studies show that low levels of Vitamin are associated with cognitive impairment and have a higher risk for developing Alzheimer's disease although this has not yet been properly established.
