Tribulus terrestris, also called puncture vine, is a fruit-producing Mediterranean plant that appears to be covered with spines. The fruit, leaf, and root of Tribulus terrestris has been used therapeutically for the treatment of kidney problems such as kidney stones, painful urination, Bright's diseases, and is used as a diuretic. Moreover, it has also been used to treat skin disorders including eczema, psoriasis, and scabies. Other uses include for the treatment of heart and circulatory problems, for digestive problems, for gonorrhea, liver diseases, inflammation, joint pain, leprosy, coughs, headaches, vertigo, chronic fatigue syndrome, and in enhancing athletic performance.
