Hydergine, also known as Ergoloid Mesylates, co-dergocrine mesilate, or dihydroergotoxine mesylate, is a mixture of various methanesulfonate salts and alkaloids that was created by Albert Hofmann (the guy who invented LSD). It has been thought to offer treatment for various neurodegenerative disorders such as dementia and other forms of cognitive deficits and has also been used as a nootropic supplement or as part of a ÒstackÓ to enhance cognition. Moreover, Hydergine has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of senility and cerebrovascular insufficiency. It has also been shown to have a positive impact upon blood pressure by normalizing it and by reducing very high cholesterol levels.
